Pekanbaru, October 14, 2025 – The Faculty of Psychology at Riau Islamic University (UIR) once again held its Graduation Ceremony (Yudisium) to officially graduate prospective graduates for the Period 3 of 2025. The solemn and lively event was held at Hotel de Zuri on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
A total of 168 students officially earned the title of Bachelor of Psychology, ready to step into the professional world and community service. This success was marked by the reading of the Dean’s Decree on the Determination of Graduation, followed by the symbolic process of scarf draping.
A Deep Message from the Dean
The Yudisium event was officially opened by the Dean of the UIR Faculty of Psychology, Mr. Sigit Nugroho, M.Psi., Psychologist. In his opening remarks, Mr. Sigit Nugroho expressed his gratitude and pride for the achievements of the graduates.
“Today is the beginning of a new responsibility, not the end of everything. The knowledge of psychology you have acquired is a mandate. I urge you to become a psychology graduate and practitioner who is not only scientifically excellent but also possesses integrity and is capable of bringing benefit and positive contribution to the people, society, nation, and religion,” the Dean emphasized passionately, which was met with thunderous applause from the attendees.
He also stressed the importance of the role of psychologists amidst the complexity of current social issues, in line with UIR’s vision as a university based on Faith and Piety.
A Solemn and Joyful Atmosphere
The yudisium ceremony proceeded solemnly, especially when the names of the graduates were read out, highlighting the culmination of their academic struggle. A sense of emotion was felt when the graduate representative, Rangga Adhitya Rosman, delivered his impressions and messages, thanking the lecturers and parents for their unwavering support.
However, the atmosphere then turned lively and full of joy as the Dean and the faculty’s leadership extended their congratulations. The group photo session involving graduates, parents/guardians, and lecturers became the peak of the merriment, accompanied by music and applause that broke the formal atmosphere.
The Best Graduate Ready to Inspire
On this occasion, the UIR Faculty of Psychology also presented an award to the graduate with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The predicate of best graduate was achieved by Rangga Adhitya Rosman with a CGPA of 3.95 and the predicate With Praise (Cumlaude).
“We hope that all graduates, especially the best graduate, can become an inspiration and an ambassador for the alma mater wherever they are. Keep learning, because the world of psychology is a dynamic and ever-evolving science,” concluded Mr. Sigit Nugroho, marking the end of this period’s Yudisium series, and simultaneously releasing the new alumni to make their contributions.
